Amit Shah says, ‘No corruption charges against Modi government’

India’s Transformation: A Decade of Progress Under the Modi Government

In a recent address at the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the significant achievements of the Modi government over the past decade. He pointed out that the administration has not faced any corruption charges during this time. As a result, Shah asserted that the government has effectively ended policy paralysis and transformed India from one of the “Fragile Five” economies into a “bright spot” on the global stage.

A Vision for 2047

Looking ahead, Shah expressed confidence that by 2047, India will emerge as one of the most developed nations in the world. This optimistic vision stems from the “remarkable” initiatives implemented by the Modi government. Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office in 2014, the government has rolled out various reforms across multiple sectors.

These reforms have led to significant upgrades in infrastructure, improved connectivity, and the growth of the digital economy. Additionally, the expansion of railway networks and the establishment of manufacturing industries for semiconductors and electric vehicles have marked notable progress.

Tackling Security Challenges

Moreover, Shah addressed pressing security concerns, stating that the Modi government has successfully buried terrorism, Left-wing extremism, and northeastern insurgency “200 yards deep into the ground”. He noted that when Modi first took office, the government faced considerable challenges characterized by “policy paralysis”.

However, this situation has since changed. The Modi administration adopted a “policy of performance,” demonstrating decisiveness and effective action in a short timeframe.

From “Fragile Five” to Economic Growth

Furthermore, Shah recalled that India once bore the label of a “Fragile Five” economy. This term originated from a financial analyst at Morgan Stanley in 2013, referring to emerging markets overly reliant on risky foreign investments. Alongside India, this group included Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, and South Africa.

Today, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) recognizes India as a “bright spot”. This significant shift illustrates the nation’s resilience and impressive economic growth.

Welfare Initiatives

Shah emphasized the Modi government’s commitment to welfare programs. Ten years ago, India faced double-digit inflation. Now, however, it enjoys double-digit growth. The government has provided free food grains to 800 million people and housing to 50 million.

Moreover, 120 million toilets have been constructed, 110 million individuals have received free electricity connections, and 150 million people now have access to potable water.

Expanding the Market

Amit Shah also highlighted that India used to be a market of 500 million people. The remaining 800 million focused on earning their daily livelihoods and lacked purchasing power.

By addressing the needs of these 800 million through various initiatives, the government has effectively expanded India’s market to 1.3 billion people.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Amit Shah‘s address underscores the transformative journey India has undertaken under the Modi government. With a strong focus on economic reforms, security, and welfare initiatives, the country is poised for a promising future. As India continues on its path of development, it stands ready to face the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
