Arvind Kejriwal says “Biggest Lesson” on ongoing Haryana Results

Lessons from Haryana: Kejriwal on Overconfidence and Upcoming Elections

BJP’s Strong Lead in Haryana

As the BJP gains momentum in Haryana, early trends show a significant lead. The party is currently ahead in 50 out of 90 assembly seats. In light of these developments, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal shared important insights during a gathering of AAP municipal councilors. He emphasized the need to avoid overconfidence in electoral politics.

A Call for Humility

Kejriwal reflected on the unfolding situation, saying, “Let’s wait to see the results in Haryana. The key takeaway is that one should never be overconfident during elections.” This sentiment resonates deeply, especially as AAP candidates trail behind both BJP and Congress in nearly all constituencies.

The Alliance That Never Was

The AAP‘s decision to independently contest 89 of the 90 seats stemmed from an inability to form a pre-poll alliance with Congress. Disagreements over seat allocation led to Congress rejecting AAP‘s request for 9 seats. Consequently, AAP entered the election solo.

AAP’s Role in Haryana Politics

Despite these challenges, Kejriwal has been vocal about AAP’s significance in Haryana. He insists that no government could be formed without their support. However, the reality suggests a tough road ahead for AAP. Their candidates are struggling to make an impact.

Focusing on Delhi Elections

Looking ahead, Kejriwal urged party councilors to focus on the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections in February. He stressed the importance of grassroots initiatives. Ensuring proper garbage collection and disposal in their wards is a fundamental responsibility.

“You will play a crucial role in this election,” he said. “We can win if you ensure proper garbage collection and disposal in your areas.”

Conclusion: Lessons Learned

As AAP navigates this challenging electoral landscape, the lessons from Haryana will inform their strategies moving forward. Every election presents unique challenges. It’s clear that hard work and vigilance will be essential for success in the months to come.
