Assembly By-Elections Underway in Three States

Voting is underway in key Assembly by-elections across Bihar, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh, with polling taking place under the supervision of election officials and security personnel. The by-elections are being closely watched as political parties seek to strengthen their presence in the respective state legislatures.

Polling stations opened in the morning with voters arriving steadily to cast their ballots. Election officials are verifying voter identities, operating Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) systems, and ensuring that polling is conducted according to established procedures.

Security arrangements have been strengthened at sensitive polling locations to facilitate peaceful voting. Police personnel and election observers have been deployed to monitor the electoral process, while officials continue to encourage eligible citizens to participate in the democratic exercise.

The by-elections are being held in constituencies that became vacant due to various reasons, including resignation, disqualification, or the death of sitting legislators.
