Drug Abuse in Punjab

BJP's 13-day Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra concludes in Jalandhar on September 30 with Amit Shah's rally, as Congress and AAP continue their political exchanges over Punjab's drug issue ahead of the 2027 Assembly election.

Punjab's drug issue has once again become a major political topic ahead of the 2027 Assembly Election. The BJP and Congress are questioning the AAP government's handling of the issue, while AAP is defending its record by highlighting the history of the problem before 2022. The debate is likely to remain an important part of Punjab Politics as parties intensify their election preparations

Ahead of the Punjab Assembly Election 2027, the BJP has launched a statewide Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra focused on the issue of drugs. Four simultaneous yatras are planned to cover nearly 4,000 kilometres and all 117 Assembly constituencies, making the campaign a significant part of the party's pre-election outreach.
