Uttar Pradesh politics is heating up ahead of the 2027 Assembly election as the BJP strengthens its organisation and the Samajwadi Party expands its PDA Rath campaign. At the same time, recent remarks by SP and Congress leaders have brought renewed attention to their alliance, leadership roles and the unresolved question of Assembly seat-sharing.

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has launched the PDA Rath campaign from Rae Bareli ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, saying the SP will contest in an alliance and that seat-sharing will be based on winnability. The campaign has also brought the SP-Congress relationship and the BJP's response into focus.

The PDA Rath Yatra places Political Parties and their social outreach strategies at the centre of Uttar Pradesh Politics ahead of the 2027 Elections. The Rae Bareli programme is also significant for the SP-Congress relationship, while issues of Governance and representation remain important beyond the Lok Sabha level. The coming months will provide more clarity on the parties' campaign strategies and their approach to seat-sharing.
