Goa's political landscape is taking shape ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, with the Aam Aadmi Party and Goa Forward Party launching the “Goa First” alliance, while Congress and Revolutionary Goans have separately agreed in principle to contest together. Ahead of the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, differences have emerged within the Goa Forward Party (GFP) over its alliance strategy. While senior GFP member Prashant Naik has called for consideration of Congress's offer for broader opposition coordination, GFP president Vijai Sardesai has said the party continues to stand by the “Goa First” alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and that no decision has been taken to change it.

Congress and Revolutionary Goans have reached an in-principle understanding to work together for the 2027 Goa Assembly election, but the proposed alliance remains subject to several conditions. The discussions cover Goan identity, land and natural resources, political defections, employment, governance and environmental issues.

Political preparations for the 2027 Goa Assembly election have intensified with the Aam Aadmi Party and Goa Forward Party announcing their ‘Goa First’ alliance.
