As Haryana in elections, a shocking incident has stirred the political landscape. A female Congress leader accused a man of molesting her on stage during a party event, sparking a heated exchange between Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Congress leaders immediately demanded swift action, while the BJP quickly seized the moment to criticize the Opposition.
Chief Minister Nayab Saini swiftly addressed the situation, emphasizing that his government would take strict action once a formal complaint arrives. “We will act as soon as we receive a complaint. Women hold an integral place in society, and we must protect their dignity,” he stated. He didn’t hesitate to criticize Congress, declaring, “They don’t respect anyone, including women, the poor, and Dalits. This kind of behavior exists in their culture and DNA.”
The BJP quickly fueled the controversy by sharing a video on social media. The footage allegedly shows a woman farm leader facing molestation during the event. The ruling party wasted no time accusing Congress of being ‘anti-women.’ In response, Congress leaders condemned the incident and demanded accountability.
Kumari Selja, a senior Congress leader, responded immediately. “I spoke with her, and she told me that someone attempted to push her off the stage. The video clearly shows this. Such incidents are unacceptable, and action must follow,” she told reporters.
Meanwhile, voters in Haryana continued heading to the polls, undeterred by the political tensions. By 5:00 pm, voter turnout reached 61%. The incident intensified an already heated election, as both parties scrambled to use the situation to their advantage.
Further complicating the situation, the woman involved in the incident revealed that certain individuals created fake social media profiles in her name. She accused these “mischievous elements” of using the accounts to post negative comments about her uncle, Congress candidate Jassi Petwar.
In a video message, she clarified her stance. “Please stop misusing my name. I fully support the Congress party. You can see me standing right next to my uncle Jassi Petwar. I stand by him and fully support him,” she stated.
This incident has transformed into a significant flashpoint in Haryana’s election. Congress and the BJP now find themselves locked in a blame game, with both sides attempting to use the controversy for political gain. The key question remains: will this incident lead to real action, or will it serve as yet another political tool during the election?
As Haryana’s election concludes, the way both parties handle this situation could determine the political narrative.
