Sanjay Raut Granted Bail in Defamation Case

On Thursday, a Mumbai magistrate court granted bail to Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut after finding him guilty in a defamation case. Medha Somaiya, the wife of former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, filed the suit against him. Consequently, the court sentenced Raut to 15 days of simple imprisonment but suspended the sentence for 30 days to allow for an appeal.
