Amit Shah Critiques JMM Government in Jharkhand: A Call for Change

Accusations of “Vote Bank” Politics

On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a pointed critique of the JMM-led government in Jharkhand, accusing it of engaging in “vote bank” politics.

He boldly pledged that if the BJP comes to power, they would work to expel “each” illegals from the state, emphasizing the party’s focus on immigration policy as the assembly elections approach.

Demographic Concerns

At a rally in Sahibganj, Shah highlighted alarming demographic shifts, noting that the tribal population in Santhal Pargana has dropped from 44 percent to 28 percent.

He claimed that infiltrators are being treated as vote banks by the RJD, Congress, and JMM, stating, “The time has come to show the corrupt JMM government the exit door… We want to transform Jharkhand.”

Commitment to Health Welfare

In addition to his immigration stance, Shah announced a commitment to providing Rs 10 lakh in free health coverage for poor residents aged 75 and older.

He criticized the Hemant Soren government for focusing on “ghuspathiya kalyan” (infiltrator welfare) instead of public welfare, positioning the BJP’s manifesto as a solution for the state’s vulnerable populations.

Claims of Corruption

Shah alleged that the Hemant Soren government is the “most corrupt in the country,” citing various scams totaling Rs 1,000 crore in MNREGA, another Rs 1,000 crore in mining.

Rs 600 crore in land deals, and a Rs 40 crore liquor scam. He accused the government of usurping Army land, painting a picture of widespread corruption and mismanagement.

The ‘Parivartan Yatra’ Strategy

The ‘Parivartan Yatra,’ launched in Sahibganj, is part of the BJP’s strategy to connect with voters and highlight the JMM-led government’s failures ahead of the assembly elections.

The BJP plans to conduct six ‘Parivartan‘ processions covering 5,400 km across 81 assembly segments in 24 districts, culminating on October 2. This ambitious campaign is expected to feature around 50 national and state-level BJP leaders, including several chief ministers.
