In a powerful address on Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi rallied the people of Haryana to reject the “hatred” propagated by the BJP. He emphasized the need for unity in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Moreover, speaking at a public meeting in Nuh a region marked by violence last year due to an attack on a Vishva Hindu Parishad procession, Gandhi urged citizens to vote out the ruling party on October 5.
“The battle is between ‘mohabbat’ and ‘nafrat’ “, he declared. In this context, Gandhi asserted that the Congress stands for love while the BJP thrives on division.
Furthermore, he underscored the importance of brotherhood. “Wherever the BJP and RSS go, they spread hatred. In every state, they raise issues of language, religion, or caste,“ he stated.
In addition, Gandhi passionately argued that hatred must be eradicated. “India is a nation of ‘mohabbat,’ not one of hatred,” he proclaimed.
He reinforced this sentiment by adding, “India is a place of ‘mohabbat ki dukan,’ not ‘nafrat ka bazaar.'” This call to action reflects a broader appeal for love and unity in the face of divisive politics.
As the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Gandhi emphasized the dangers of hatred. He noted that it weakens the nation and spreads sorrow and fear.
Consequently, he said, “Only love can counter such negativity”. Love fosters the brotherhood essential for national progress. “While we promote love, the BJP spreads hatred and seeks to divide the nation,” he warned.
Holding a copy of the Constitution, Gandhi reminded attendees of its critical role. It protects the rights of the poor, farmers, and laborers.
In light of this, he expressed concern that “the BJP and RSS are determined to attack the Constitution“. If this happens, he warned, “the poor will lose everything—your land, money, and water will be taken away and concentrated in the hands of just 20 to 25 individuals”.
Additionally, Gandhi raised alarms about Haryana youths. Many are resorting to illegal routes to reach the US in search of better opportunities.
This trend highlights a significant issue: the lack of employment options in their home state.
As the October 5 Assembly polls approach, it’s important to note that the counting of votes will take place on October 8.
Ultimately, Gandhi’s message is clear: the choice before the people of Haryana is crucial. It centers on love and unity versus division and hatred.
