In 2023, he faced another suspension for the entire monsoon session, imposed by Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, due to repeated violations of the chair’s directives.
Despite these controversies, Singh has been active in raising important issues in Parliament, including child deaths, child trafficking, and stricter penalties for child sexual abuse. In recognition of his efforts, he received the PGC Award from UNICEF India in 2020.

In 2019, Singh received a notice from the Ahmedabad Court regarding his statements made during the Rafale deal controversy. Additionally, in 2017, Singh was reportedly slapped by a female AAP worker who was frustrated after the party did not allow her to voice concerns about corruption during ticket distribution.
In January 2023, a special court in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh, convicted Singh and sentenced him to three months in jail in a 2001 case. He is currently out on bail.
