The political landscape in Telangana has recently become more turbulent due to Minister Konda Surekha‘s comments.
She accused Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao (KTR) of potentially orchestrating his father, K Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR), disappearance from public view.
In a bold move, she urged her party, the Congress, to file a missing persons report for KCR. This statement not only drew significant attention but also came on the heels of her earlier remarks linking KTR to the divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
Furthermore, Surekha’s comments sparked criticism from BRS leader Sravan Dasoju, who lamented the current state of political discourse in Telangana.
He argued that it has sharply declined since Revanth Reddy became TPCC president and later assumed the role of chief minister.
Dasoju pointed out, “Derogatory, defamatory, and insulting language is being directed at the opposition, particularly towards KCR, KTR, and their family members”.
In addition, Konda Surekha made explosive claims, stating, “It is KT Rama Rao who is responsible for Samantha’s divorce.”
She alleged that he tapped the phones of actresses to exploit their weaknesses for blackmail.
Moreover, she suggested that he contributed to making them drug addicts, a claim she insisted was widely known.
Such statements have sparked outrage and drawn sharp criticism from prominent figures in the film industry, including Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu and NT Rama Rao.
After facing backlash, Konda Surekha sought to clarify her intentions. She claimed her comments aimed to challenge KTR for “belittling women” rather than offend Samantha.
Moreover, Surekha expressed her willingness to “unconditionally” retract her statements if they hurt Samantha or her fans.
In a dramatic turn of events, KTR responded by sending a defamation notice to Surekha. He demanded an unconditional public apology.
This escalation underscores how political rhetoric can quickly become personal, impacting reputations and relationships.
As this story continues to develop, it raises important questions about the role of public figures in politics.
What responsibilities do they hold when discussing personal matters? Ultimately, the fallout from this controversy will likely influence public perception and political alliances in Telangana in the days to come.

Mr. Jain was in charge of the Trinamool Congress's IT cell, according to Ms. Banerjee.
