Strengthening Food Safety: Yogi Adityanath’s Upcoming Meeting and Legislative Initiatives

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will hold a pivotal meeting this Tuesday with key officials from the Uttar Pradesh government. The Yogi administration plans to introduce two significant ordinances: the ‘Prevention of Pseudo and Anti-Harmony Activities and Prohibition of Spitting Ordinance 2024’ and the ‘UP Prevention of Contamination in Food (Consumer Right to Know) Ordinance 2024.’

These measures aim to establish strict penalties for those who compromise food safety. Consequently, the message is clear: such behavior will not be tolerated.

At 6:30 PM, the Chief Minister will meet with Additional Chief Secretary Home Deepak Kumar, Ashish Singh from the Home Department, Sanjeev Gupta Home Secretary DGP, and other relevant officials. Together, they will work to ensure effective implementation of these ordinances.

One key feature of the proposed ordinances is consumer empowerment. Specifically, the new laws will grant individuals the right to detailed information about their food. This includes transparency regarding where food is prepared and who is involved in its preparation.
