Bengaluru, August 24, 2026: Karnataka witnessed a major political confrontation on Monday as the BJP and JD(S) intensified their protest against the Congress-led state government, demanding the resignation or removal of Karnataka Planning and Statistics Minister B. Nagendra over allegations linked to the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation (KMVSTDC) fund case.
The BJP and JD(S) mobilised party workers in Bengaluru and attempted to march towards Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the Karnataka Legislature. The Opposition has accused the state government of failing to take adequate political action over the alleged financial irregularities involving funds meant for Scheduled Tribe welfare programmes.
