As the political landscape in Jharkhand heats up ahead of the assembly elections, Union Minister and BJP in-charge for the state, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, made a significant announcement on Monday. He stated that the National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be implemented in Jharkhand. Moreover, Chouhan accused the Hemant Soren-led government of favoring infiltrators, highlighting the urgency of the issue.
In addition to his announcement, Chouhan articulated the BJP‘s commitment to protecting the values represented by the phrase ‘Roti, Mati aur Beti.’ The core elements that symbolize the livelihoods and security of the people.
“The BJP is preparing to unveil its election manifesto. This election is not merely about appointing a Chief Minister or gaining power; it’s about saving Jharkhand. We are dedicated to protecting ‘Roti, Mati aur Beti.’ The influx of infiltrators from Bangladesh is rapidly altering the region’s demographics. Previously, the tribal population in the Santhal region constituted over 44 percent; now it has dwindled to just 28 percent,” he stated.
Consequently, Chouhan emphasized that this demographic shift is significantly impacting the local population.
Furthermore, the BJP leader did not hold back in his criticism of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Chouhan claimed that Soren’s government engages in vote bank politics by catering to infiltrators.
Consequently, he pledged that the NRC would be implemented in Jharkhand. This measure aims to register local residents while identifying and expelling intruders from the state.
On October 5, the BJP launched its ‘Paanch Prana’ initiative. Specifically, this initiative targets the youth and women of Jharkhand as part of their election manifesto. It outlines five key promises designed to address pressing issues in the state:
In addition, the BJP plans to fill over 200,000 vacant positions in the state. The recruitment process will begin in the first cabinet meeting. Ultimately, they aim to complete the hiring of 100,000 government positions by 2025.
As Jharkhand prepares for the upcoming elections, the stakes are high. In fact, the promises made by political parties will play a crucial role in shaping the state’s future. With issues such as infiltrators, employment, and women’s welfare at the forefront, the electorate will be watching closely.
Ultimately, the BJP‘s initiatives and Chouhan’s bold statements mark a critical phase in Jharkhand’s political narrative. Thus, this sets the stage for a heated electoral battle ahead.
