BJP Appoints Vinod Tawde as Uttar Pradesh In-Charge

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed Vinod Tawde as its Uttar Pradesh in-charge as part of a major organisational reshuffle announced by BJP president Nitin Nabin. The changes cover the party’s organisational structure across 28 states and eight Union Territories and come as the BJP prepares its organisation for upcoming electoral activity, including the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.

In Uttar Pradesh, Jagdish Patel, Medha Kulkarni, Pardeep Varma and Anand Ojha have been appointed as co-in-charges alongside Tawde. The appointments are intended to strengthen the party’s organisational coordination and grassroots activities in the state.

The organisational changes come as political parties in Uttar Pradesh step up preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections. Tawde had already begun holding meetings with senior BJP leaders and party functionaries in the state. He has met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, and other organisational leaders to discuss party preparations and organisational work.

The BJP has also been focusing on booth-level organisation, constituency-level feedback and mobilisation of party workers. Recent meetings have included discussions about organisational preparedness, local political conditions and the party’s outreach activities ahead of the Assembly polls.

The party’s Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, launched on September 17 and scheduled to continue until October 17, is another part of its current organisational programme in Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, the campaign is being used to communicate the government’s work to the public while also strengthening the party’s grassroots network and gathering feedback from constituencies.

The BJP’s organisational preparations are taking place alongside activity by the Samajwadi Party (SP). SP president Akhilesh Yadav has begun the party’s PDA Yatra, with the party also working on strengthening its booth-level organisation and youth outreach ahead of the 2027 election.

The appointment of Vinod Tawde therefore places him at the centre of the BJP’s organisational work in Uttar Pradesh as political parties prepare for the next Assembly election. The BJP’s new team will be responsible for coordinating organisational activities, working with state and district-level leaders and supporting the party’s preparations across the state.
