Jharkhand to Delhi Why Hundreds of JMM, Congress and RJD Workers Are Heading to Ramlila Maidan Rally on Nov 1

The national capital is set to witness a major political gathering on November 1, 2026. Opposition parties under the INDIA bloc have announced a "Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao" rally at Ramlila Maidan. Among all states, Jharkhand is showing one of the biggest mobilizations, with workers from JMM, Congress and RJD leaving for Delhi.
What Is The November 1 Rally About?
The rally is being organized to protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Opposition leaders allege that names of valid voters, especially from tribal and marginalized communities, are being deleted. The rally will also target CEC Gyanesh Kumar over transparency issues. Delhi Police has given conditional permission for the event from 10 AM to 5 PM at Ramlila Maidan.
Jharkhand Congress Sends Hundreds of Workers
According to reports from Ranchi, hundreds of Congress functionaries including ministers in the Hemant Soren government have left for Delhi. State Agriculture Minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey and senior leader Bandhu Tirkey flagged off multiple luxury buses from Ranchi. Congress state president Keshav Mahato Kamlesh said arrangements have been made for travel by bus, train and air between October 29 and 31 to ensure maximum participation.
RJD Claims 10,000 Workers Will Join From Jharkhand
The Jharkhand unit of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has claimed that around 10,000 leaders and workers will participate. The announcement was made by RJD legislature party leader Suresh Paswan after a meeting chaired by state president Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav. The party said workers will carry flags and banners under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav. The party also raised the issue of royalty dues allegedly withheld by the Centre.
Is The Crowd Claim Real or Inflated?
It is important to note that the figure of 10,000 is a claim made by the party. Such numbers are often announced before big rallies for mobilization. The actual turnout will be clear only on November 1. What is confirmed is that hundreds have already left Jharkhand and more batches are expected to travel in the coming two days.
Why This Rally Matters For Jharkhand Politics
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who is also JMM president, is expected to attend the rally. The mobilization shows the alliance of JMM, Congress and RJD trying to build momentum ahead of panchayat and Lok Sabha elections. For tribal dominated Jharkhand, the issue of voter list revision is being projected as a matter of constitutional rights.
Conclusion
The Delhi rally on November 1 is set to be a major show of strength for the opposition. While the exact crowd size from Jharkhand will be known after the event, the preparations on the ground in Ranchi confirm a large-scale movement of workers towards the national capital.
