A New Chapter for Arvind Kejriwal: From Chief Minister to New Beginnings
Stepping Down
In a significant turn of events, Arvind Kejriwal has officially stepped down as the Chief Minister of Delhi. He plans to vacate the official CM residence this Friday. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has confirmed that he will move to a bungalow at 5, Ferozshah Road, which party MP Ashok Mittal has designated for him. Notably, Mittal personally extended this offer, showcasing the strong camaraderie within the party.

Seeking a New Home
As he transitions, Kejriwal actively searches for a new residence that is free of disputes. He aims to find a peaceful living environment where he can stay connected to the community in New Delhi. Encouragingly, many MLAs, councilors, party workers, and citizens have offered their homes to him. This outpouring of support highlights the loyalty he commands among his peers and constituents.
A Pivotal Resignation
On September 17, Kejriwal took the important step of submitting his resignation to Delhi LG VK Saxena. This decision opened the door for Atishi, a prominent figure in AAP, to claim leadership of the new government. She made her claim just days after Kejriwal received bail from Tihar jail in the excise policy case.

A Conditional Return
Kejriwal has made it clear that he will consider returning to his former position only if he receives a renewed mandate. He seeks a “certificate of honesty” from the people of Delhi during the upcoming assembly elections, expected in February 2025.
A Historic Moment for Atishi
On September 22, Atishi took the oath as Delhi’s Chief Minister. She made history by becoming the third woman to hold this role, following Sushma Swaraj and Sheila Dikshit. In a heartfelt gesture, she placed an empty chair next to hers and stated, “This chair belongs to Arvind Kejriwal. Today, I take on the role of CM of Delhi, and my heart carries the same pain as Bharat ji’s.”

Looking Ahead
Furthermore, Atishi expressed confidence that Kejriwal would return as Chief Minister in the forthcoming elections. As this new chapter unfolds, the dynamics of Delhi politics will undoubtedly keep everyone on edge. Will Kejriwal’s journey bring him back to power? Only time will tell. However, one thing is certain: the story is far from over.
