The 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections, the first since the abrogation of Article 370 and the reorganization of the region into a Union Territory in 2019, are set to take place in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1. This election marks a significant moment in the region’s political history. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) plans to contest between 60 to 70 seats, aiming for a strong foothold in the region. Meanwhile, the Indian National Congress (INC) and National Conference have forged an alliance to contest all 90 seats together. The election results will be declared on October 8, 2024.

The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for the 2024 Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Election. The elections will be conducted in three phases:

- Poll Date: September 18
- No. of Constituencies: 24
- Phase II:
- Notification Date: August 29
- Last Date for Filing Nomination: September 5
- Poll Date: September 25
- No. of Constituencies: 26
- Phase III:
- Notification Date: September 5
- Last Date for Filing Nomination: September 12
- Poll Date: October 1
- No. of Constituencies: 40
The date for counting the votes has been postponed from October 4 to October 8, 2024.
