Kharge Raises Concerns Over Unannounced Access to His Office
In a significant move, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written to Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar. He directly addressed the unauthorized entry of officers from CPWD, CISF, and Tata Projects into his parliamentary office. This incident, which occurred without prior notification, raises serious concerns about parliamentary decorum.
A Serious Breach of Protocol
In his letter dated October 3, Kharge requested clarification on who authorized this access. He emphasized that this situation represents a troubling violation of parliamentary rules. As both a Member of Parliament and the Leader of the Opposition, he deserves certain privileges. Kharge firmly stated, “I consider this intrusion highly disrespectful and entirely unacceptable. I demand to know under whose authority and instructions they entered my chamber without permission. This matter should be taken seriously”.

Ensuring Dignity and Security
Moreover, Kharge expressed hope that officials would implement measures to prevent such incidents in the future. Specifically, he asserted that if anyone needs to enter his office, they must first obtain his permission. Additionally, he insisted that a representative from his office should be present during any visit. In conclusion, he stated, “I look forward to your prompt response on this matter”.
Unemployment Crisis and Government Accountability
In a separate but equally pressing issue, Kharge criticized the PM Modi-led Union government for its handling of the unemployment crisis. He noted the alarming trend of young individuals—unskilled, semi-skilled, and educated—seeking jobs in conflict zones. Their willingness to risk their lives for high salaries underscores the inadequacy of Modi’s claims about job creation.
Consequently, he remarked, “The youth of Haryana, who are compelled to seek jobs in these conflict zones, will give the BJP a fitting lesson tomorrow,” he posted on X.

The Political Landscape in Haryana
As Haryana prepares to vote for 90 seats in a single phase on October 5, the political landscape remains competitive. Notably, the counting of votes is scheduled for October 8.
While the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress party are the primary contenders, other parties also have significant stakes. For instance, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) are all vying for influence.
Looking Ahead
Ultimately, the outcome of these elections could serve as a critical indicator of public sentiment. Kharge‘s concerns highlight pressing issues that resonate with many voters. Therefore, as the voting day approaches, all eyes will focus on Haryana to see how the electorate responds to the current political climate.
