The Aam Aadmi Party is preparing to announce its first list of candidates for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections on October 31, according to reports. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the party leadership are looking to give candidates an early opportunity to build constituency-level connections and strengthen their electoral campaigns ahead of the next Assembly contest.

Political tensions in Assam have intensified over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with the ruling BJP announcing peaceful rallies across district headquarters to counter the Congress-led opposition campaign. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's announcement has added another dimension to the ongoing political debate over voter-list transparency, electoral accountability and democratic institutions.
