BJP leader J. P. Nadda has launched a sharp attack on the INDIA bloc over its November 1 protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Questioning the opposition's motives and timing, Nadda accused the alliance of politicising the electoral process and creating unnecessary political unrest. His remarks have intensified the confrontation between the BJP and opposition parties over the Election Commission's role and voter-list revision exercise.

The Trinamool Congress is taking its concerns over electoral transparency to the national stage as Mamata Banerjee backs the INDIA bloc's Ramlila Maidan rally.
