Raman Singh, born on October 15, 1952, is a prominent Indian politician who currently holds the position of the National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) since 2019. His political career has been marked by a series of significant roles and achievements.

Representing Rajnandgaon in the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly since 2008, Singh has been a steadfast presence in the state’s politics. Prior to this, he represented Dongargaon from 2004 to 2008, showcasing his commitment to his constituents.

Notably, Singh held the distinction of being the 2nd Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, serving an impressive 15-year tenure from 2003 to 2018. His leadership during this time played a pivotal role in the state’s development and governance.

Before his stint as Chief Minister, Singh contributed to national politics by serving as the Minister of State for Commerce and Industries in the Vajpayee cabinet from 1999 to 2003. He also served as a Member of the Lok Sabha from Rajnandgaon from 1999 to 2003 and earlier as a member of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Kawardha from 1990 to 1998.

Intriguingly, beyond his political pursuits, Singh is also an ayurvedic practitioner, highlighting his multifaceted interests and expertise. His extensive involvement in various domains underscores his dedication to public service and the betterment of society.
