Samrat Choudhary was born on 16 November 1968 in Lakhnapur village in Munger district, Bihar. Samrat Choudhary entered active politics in the 1990s and subsequently worked in different political organizations before joining the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2017.
His early political career was associated with Bihar's RJD-led political environment. He became a minister in the Rabri Devi government in 1999 and later represented the Parbatta Assembly constituency. He returned to the Bihar Assembly from Parbatta in 2010 and served as Chief Whip of the opposition during that period.
In 2014, Choudhary joined the JD(U)-led state government and handled ministerial responsibilities including urban development and housing. He subsequently became a member of the Bihar Legislative Council. After joining the BJP in 2017, he took on organizational responsibilities in the party and became one of its prominent leaders in Bihar.
