Rajasthan's second and final phase of urban local body elections is underway, with voting taking place across major cities including Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Bikaner, Udaipur and Ajmer. Rajasthan’s urban local body elections have turned into a major political contest between the BJP and Congress. The first phase witnessed clashes, allegations of irregularities and voting-related complaints, while Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma intensified the BJP’s campaign ahead of the next phase.

Rajasthan’s political landscape continues to evolve as the government focuses on development and welfare, while opposition parties raise questions about governance, employment, infrastructure and regional priorities.

Discussions between Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) have intensified, with reports suggesting alliance talks and possible Cabinet representation. However, no official announcement has been made by either party.

Political observers believe the opposition has an important opportunity, but unity and effective seat-sharing will be crucial.
